When I first heard they were getting rid of the Twisted Churro, I was excited because the Churro never really lived up to my expectations.
But would the new Double Chunk Chocolate Cookie live up to the hype?
In a word yes!
Priced at $2.49, the new 750-calorie cookie is a juggernaut.
It comes warm and fresh out of the oven and does not disappoint!
They’re Huge!
The first thing you notice when you get one is that it is much bigger than expected.
Even the picture above doesn’t do it justice as it takes up nearly an entire plate, something you don’t see very often.
When I first heard about how big the cookies were, I didn’t believe it.
Now I do. They ARE huge!
They’re Warm
A piping hot cookie straight out of the oven still warm is pretty much as close as this gets to cookie perfection.
My wife and I enjoyed our cookies in the car and my wife who is a cookie aficionado – ok snob – particularly enjoyed it.
That says a lot.
But to me, the best selling point is that it’s still warm.
You can see the hot and fresh cookies in the warming box just waiting to be plated and eaten (above).
They’re Delicious
Now is this the best cookie you’ve ever eaten? Probably not.
But it reminds me of something homemade you’d eat at your Grandma’s house
And boy when you get into it, it is packed with bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate.
It’s hot, fresh, and filled ooey gooey goodness.
Conclusion
All, in all, I think Costco made the right call to replace the Twisted Churro.
The Cookie is heads and above a better dessert.
Before we would skip dessert at Costco and stick with the Hot Dog and the Pizza, but no more.
We are a Costco cookie family now!
